In the hope of providing students with profound options in the
wake of real and current difficulty either to pursue higher
education or land a decent job in the country, The Department
of Education through the Center for Students and
Co-Curricular Affairs, in coordination with the Bureau of
Secondary Education (BSE) and in partnership of the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), implemented the
Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism in Schools
(YECS) Program. The YECS program is a co-curricular
program under the Technology and Livelihood Education
(TLE) area. It provides students with practical experiences on
Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism. The Department of
Education believe that students exposed to practical
experiences, they can evolve in to a more productive, creative,
cooperative and responsible citizens, who are able to
establish their own business ventures and eventually finance
their own tertiary education.
