From beautiful Ligao, a city that lies along the poetic background of the majestic Mayon Volcano in Albay, Philippines, the LNHS Voice
Chorale, one of Ligao National High School’s crown gems, was formed in 2007. Since its foundation, it has performed in various schools
and city events and sang regularly in the church during Sunday masses.
In 2013, the LNHS One Voice Choir changed its name to Ligao National High School Voice Chorale (LNHSVC) with its new conductor, Mr.
Celger Venzon. The choir is continuously sought after in different events. Since then, more opportunities came its way for the choir. It
reached the zenith of its national and international achievement and recognition when it emerged as the National Champion of the 2014
National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) – Mixed Voices Category B.
LNHSVC clinched the Grand Prix during the 4th Bali International Choir Festival in Bali, Indonesia in August 2015. They were also
adjudged as the Category Winner in Teenager and Ethnic category before reaching the Finals. They brought home 4 gold medals, 5
trophies with certificates.
Last December 2015 they also brought home the 1st Prize at the 4th Regional Patiribayan Choral Competition in Baao, Camarines Sur.
The group also qualified as a semi-finalist during the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) Choral Competition in Aliw Theater, Pasay
City in December 2015.
And most recently, again, they emerged victorious at the 12th Busan Choral Festival and Competition in October 2016 in Busan, South
Korea. The group brought home the Gold Prize in Youth Category, Silver Prize in Ethnic Category and winners of the Grand Prix
amounting to $20,000!
Last November 25, 2016, the LNHS Voice Chorale won the 2nd Prize and the Best Performance of the Contest Piece during National
Finals of the 43rd National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) – Mixed Voices Category B. They also got the 4th place in the
MBC National Choral Competition at the Aliw Theater last December 2016 and also a recipient of the 29th AWIT AWARDS and National
Commission for Culture and the Arts’ 9TH ANI NG DANGAL AWARD.
The LNHS Voice Chorale will continue to soar high as it continues to strive to reach and surpass the members’ musical dreams together.
